Are you like me and you are just as concerned with what you put on your skin as what you put into your body?

Have you been looking for high quality skin care and cosmetics with no luck?

Korres you may of heard of, they have been around for years. But only in the last few years have the products been available in the US.

Korres was established in 1996, out of Greece’s oldest homeopathic pharmacy and now is developing new skin care, hair care and cosmetic products and distributing these great products all over the world.

A first found Korres about 2 years ago, and started with their lovely white tea cleanser. I’ve have since been obsessed with their Wild Rose skin care line. I also highly recommend their cosmetics. Everything really is high quality and good for your skin, all natural, no harsh chemicals or fillers. Not to mention that all of the products smell as good as they look.

You can buy all of their products online, recently opened on their online store. Some products are also available at Ulta, or Sephora.

Guys they have great products for you too!

Korres USA

Do you have a favorite brand? What other organic brands do you like?

If you have not tried acupuncture- it’s worth it. It may not be what you would think. Sure there are needles but it really can help you resolve a lot of your issues naturally.

Some of the main reasons people try acupuncture:

Chronic and acute pain management

Allergies and asthma

Headaches and migraines

Infertility

Stress and anxiety

Weight loss

What is acupuncture exactly?

Some information from a local Acupuncturist, Dr Sherry Lee:

Acupuncture is an ancient technique that promotes the body’s natural healing process. It involves the insertion of thin, sterile needles into particular acupuncture points to attain a healing effect. The signs and symptoms the patient exhibits help the acupuncturist determine the points to be used.

The needles we use are considerably smaller than typical needles used in western medical procedures such as drawing blood or giving an injection. Acupuncture needles are slender and fine; typically the diameter of a hair. People generally find acupuncture treatments to be relaxing and rejuvenating. All needles used at our facility are sterile and are only used once.

Don’t want to get sick this year? Do you already feel a cold creeping in? Or do you want to get over your cold faster? Do you hate taking cold medicine because they make you feel sluggish?

Have you tried Umcka or Umckaloabo? It’s a homeopathic remedy that works very well. Umcka is an herbal extract that has been shown to work against colds, flu, sinusitis, tonsillitis and antibiotic-resistant ear infections and acute bronchitis in adults and children. It has shown both antiviral and antibiotic properties in killing both viruses and bacterial infections.

Umckaloabo is derived from the South African Geranium, that is native to South Africa.

Umcka comes in multiple forms. The most popular way to take is in liquid form or as tea.

The liquid kind is taken like traditional cold medicine however the Umcka does not have the traditional chalky taste. Nature’s Way makes several versions grape, cherry, mint, and lemon. I especially like the lemon flavor in the tea version. It’s Vegetarian and Gluten free.

Umcka is available at many natural food stores, Whole Foods, Central Market, Natural Groceries, etc.

The first sign of a cold I drink some Lemon Umcka tea. Give it a go with your next cold!

Is better health your New Year’s Resolution? We can help!

Power up your cells. Your cells say, “Just give me the energy, and I can heal myself.”

PXP Royale is a natural superfood made up of legendary purple rice grains containing built-in antioxidants, potent phytonutrients, alpha glucans, and polysaccharide peptides.

For centuries, the consumption of purple rice was limited to the emperors of the most powerful dynasties in Asia, their families, and the warriors who rode into battle for them. Now–after much research, and following Kaizen, the philosophy of continuous improvement–this mystical and potent rice has been rediscovered and unveiled by Enzacta.

Want more energy? Overall better health? Lose Weight? What else does PXP do what are the other Benefits?

When ingested, it is quickly absorbed into the bloodstream and then, immediately into all of our cells.

Due to its low molecular weight and high biochemical compatibility with the cell membranes, it easily penetrates natural barriers, going from the bloodstream to the cerebral spinal fluid; from a pregnant mother’s bloodstream to her baby; and from a lactating mother’s bloodstream to her breast milk and so to her infant.

Purple rice is a short-grain heirloom rice packed with extraordinary nutrients and beneficial properties. It’s also known as Forbidden Rice, since only ancient Chinese emperors were allowed consumed it.

Its color, which comes from the presence of phytonutrients, is the key to its benefits. It also has a high mineral content and an astounding amino acid profile.

Despite the wide range of rice varieties in existence around the world, there are very few that are as potent and unique as purple rice. This wholegrain rice has more proteins than white rice, and can have up to between 7 and 8.5 g of nutrients for each 100 g of rice, a very high quantity.

The Top 10 New Year’s Resolutions for 2010 (from Yahoo) were:

10- Stop Smoking

9- Be Nicer to people in general

8- Quit Drinking/ Drink Less

7- Quit Taking Recreational Drugs

6- Spend More Time with the Family

5- Read More Books

4- Learn something new (hobby, or gain a new skill)

3- Organize your life

2- Diet or lose weight

1- Get out of debt and handle my money better

Want to be Lucky in love, in your career, luckier in life? Want to get in better shape, get out of debt, drink or eat less?

Eat this on New Year’s Eve for a lucky 2011!

Grapes At midnight on New Year’s Eve, revelers in Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries eat 12 grapes — one for every strike of the clock and month in the year. This custom grew from a grape surplus in the Alicante region of Spain in 1909, and celebrates the coming of a sweet year.

Black-Eyed Peas A common good luck food in the southern United States, black-eyed peas are thought to bring prosperity, their shape and abundance representing coins. Hoppin’ John is the classic Southern New Year’s dish.

Want More? Here are lucky Foods from around the world from blog her.

MEXICO, SPAIN and CUBA: For good luck, they’ll eat 12 grapes at the stroke of midnight, each grape signifying one month of the upcoming year. If the grape for the respective month is sweet, they’ll expect a good month… if it’s sour, a bad one.

JAPAN: You’ll hear the crunch, crunch of Buddhist monks munching on noodles in temples at midnight.

GERMANY: Break out the carp… the traditional New Year’s Eve fish in Germany. Not only will they feast on it, but many Germans will also place several of the fish’s scales in their wallets as a way to ensure financial good luck!

HOLLAND: Olie Bollen – literally translating to “oil balls” – are a traditional New Year’s Eve treat for the Dutch. These yummy, puffy doughnuts are often filled with diced apples, raisins, and currants.

POLAND: Many Poles will feast on herring to usher in a year of good fortune.

SOUTHERN U.S: If you eat black-eyed peas on New Year’s Eve, legend has it you’ll enjoy good luck the whole year through. Want wealth? Try corn bread, cabbage, collard greens, or kale!

PHILIPPINES: Here the kind of food doesn’t matter. Filipinos believe it’s important to have any type of food on the table at midnight to help encourage an abundance of food throughout the year.

DENMARK: Boiled cod is traditional New Year’s Eve fare.

WORLDWIDE: Want to start a new tradition? Try this one, shared by many people throughout the world: it’s the practice of eating “ring-shaped” food during New Year’s celebrations. Symbolizing the “coming full circle,” the belief is that good luck will follow all who consume such foods. So bite a bagel or doughnut at midnight this December 31st… and be open to good fortune!

Happy New Year! We hope 2011 is your best year ever!

Not to worry these trips will help you get back on track!

1) Still have left over cookies, cake and candy? Do yourself a favor and get it out our your house.

Give it to a family member, a neighbor or friend. I am sure they will appreciate it and you will have less temptation.

2) Drink lots of water. This will help flush your system and help you detox. Added bonus, put a 1/4 quarter of a lemon in every glass of water you drink.

3) Get some exercise. Take the dog on a walk, go to the park, ice skating, find something fun and get your butt moving!

4) When you get hungry eat smaller, fresh meals throughout the day. This will help you from getting hungry and not snack. i.e A large salad with a piece of grilled chicken. A turkey sandwich with soup. Green beans and a slice of ham and a side of cranberries, a fruit smoothie, glass of veggie juice.

5) Stay away from the booze! If you must drink try stick with just one drink. Plus an extra glass of water.

6) Lots of sleep! People generally tend to eat and drink more and less less during the holidays. Make sure you are recovering with a full nights sleep.

Here’s to a speedy recovery!

If you didn’t make to our event last night you missed a very entertaining, informative, and valuable seminar. Don’t worry I took notes.

Here are Dr. Silberstein’s 4 keys to health.

1) Eat Primitive

For 40,000 years the human diet has been a hunter gatherer diet. This includes fresh meat, fruits, vegetables, and nuts. The last 200 years the food industry has been through the industrial age and now our food is processed, has preservatives, pesticides, and has been genetically modified. It’s impossible for human genome to adapt to this drastic change in diet in such a short period of time.

The primitive diet consisted of less than 4% fat of which 65% was unsaturated (good fat) and 35% was saturated. Compare that to the average American diet which consists of 40-50% fat of which 1% is unsaturated and 99% is saturated.

Phytonutrients (natural plant chemicals) are extremely important. Over 30,000 phytonutrients have been identified and the list keeps growing. One apple contains 10,000 phytonutrients and one tomato contains 12,000 phytonutrients.

Never microwave your food (this for another post, but avoid using a microwave like the plague)

2) Eat Colorful

Dr. Silberstein went through a few colors and what they support. For example, the color orange increases immune support and your T-cell count. Red prevents prostate cancer & breast cancer.

If everyone ate one organic apple a day 36,000 health related deaths in the U.S. would be avoided every year. 400,000 health related deaths in the world would be avoided every year.

Colorful food has antioxidents which protects DNA & neutralizes free radicals.

Fiber – 40 grams/day

A healthy person has at least 2 large bowl movements per day

3) Eat Alkaline

For foods that are high in Alkaline vs acid see the below chart.

Alkaline Chart

4) Eat Organic

Organic food has a LOT more nutrients, antioxidants, and minerals. Even if you pay double for food that is organic you are getting 10 to 1000 times more nutrients than non-organic food!

The following chart is a study from Rutgers University comparing the nutrient content of organic vs non organic vegetables.

Organic vs non organic nutrients

Other important Information:

In Dr. Silberstein’s Center for Advancement in Cancer Education the highest cure rate has come from patients that juice. She’s even had patients who are giving days to live start juicing and make a miraculous recovery.

Drink half your body weight in ounces of water. (of course avoid all sodas, store bought juices, ect). Only drink filtered or bottled water. So if you weight 150lbs drink 75 ounces of water per day. The human brain is 80% water, and the blood uses the water first. The brain is the last organ to receive water so make sure you are drinking plenty of water.

As for nutritional supplements Dr. Silberstein only recommends whole food nutritional supplements. She recommends Juice Plus to all patients at the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education. Juice Plus is concentrated organic fruits & vegetables in a capsule or gummy (for kids). If you would like to know more about Juice Plus please contact:
